SchaPicShow — Schakya Sinhara
Born in Lausanne to parents from Sri Lanka and France, Schakya Sinhara developed an early sensitivity to images and aesthetics. At the age of seven, he took his first photographs with a film camera given to him by his mother, who was also passionate about photography. This initial encounter with photography marked the beginning of a fascination that would never leave him.
His travels, his interest in art and museums, as well as his personal journey, gradually fostered a deep gaze towards aesthetics, the body, light, and human expression.
After several years in the medical field, Schakya Sinhara chose to dedicate himself fully to photography. He trained in portraiture, fashion, Fine Art photography, and studio creation, developing an approach where photography becomes as much a work of light and composition as an emotional quest.
His universe is distinguished by intense, elegant, and carefully constructed photographs, in which the body and human presence become sculptural elements. Between contemporary aesthetics, fashion photography, and Fine Art sensibility, he seeks to create works that go beyond simple representation.
His approach is based on an essential idea: "to make an ephemeral moment eternal." To transform a moment that, by nature, lasts only an instant, into a work capable of continuing to convey an emotion, a presence, or a story long after its creation.
Since 2023, his work has been regularly published internationally in magazines dedicated to fashion, photography, and visual arts. His photographs have been featured in Vanguard Magazine, SELIN Magazine, Darkly Art Magazine, Bleach Film Magazine, Mob Journal, Artells Magazine, and Vigour Magazine. Several of his works have also been subject to editorial selections and covers.
Today, through SchaPicShow, Schakya Sinhara develops a personal photographic body of work intended for exhibition and collection. His photographs are offered in limited editions, conceived as artworks in their own right and intended to engrave a moment in time.
